Ponte Guapo Isidoro! (Let’s beautify Isidoro!) is a project that was conceived under the request of the parents of the students at the public school San Isidoro in Seville downtown. They were looking for a way to bring shade to the existent playground of the school.
However, the inexistence of public funds to make the works let the parents to organize several flea markets to collect funds and in that way, self-finance the project.
Following that action, and as part of the initiative implementation process, they decided to contact Recetas Urbanas whom inmediatly began to work due the parents energy and enthusiasm. Since then, we have been raising various actions like: plant two trees, build an artificial one from wood, install a pergola that is made by creepers and recycled bedsteads, and finally install a sunshade.
Also, to ensure the kids participation in the project, we have the cooperation and advice from La Jarapa collective, who organized the murals workshop improving in a fast and economic way the overview of the school playground.
