“The Socialization of the Art or the Witness Protection Program” was an exhibition project that proposed two actions with a common objective: to show collaborative projects among individuals, collective groups and institutions; as well as, their evaluative part exposing their protocols, participants and public recognition, along with their way to solve certain type of situations and to operate.
On one hand, it was shown in the Espacio Iniciarte, an exhibition of different projects, finished or failed, that were developed or proposed between 2002 and 2009. For these projects and documentaries were made videos, models and boards to explain and describe all the dimensions and agents that were involved in each of them. On this part were presented elements such as : the relations with the institutions and their rejections to the project/s, funding, responsabilities, the involved users and the self-build and self-management tools.
The second part of the project, was complementary to the first one, and it gave a new characterization to the old church building converting it for two months (the time of the exhibition) on a mini factory for precast concrete elements. Over there we produced benches, swings and walls that after would be installed in different places that had an institutional support behind it. The main purpose was not to show-off (a proof of that is that the destination areas are unknown), but rather to commit in the work of collaborative processes where the main point was to give public infrastructure to places where it barely exists.
The exposition of the documents worked as a guarantor that all the resources obtained from recycling, the financial aids and the relations with other collective groups were being used to develop proposals of public interest.
